Evaporative Cooler Fan FAQs
Why choose PolarCool for my facility?
- Lower operational costs than compressor-based AC
- Portable and scalable cooling options
- Easy installation — no ducting or refrigerants
- Made for continuous-duty operation in demanding environments
- Proudly made and supported in the USA
How much area can a PolarCool unit cool?
Coverage depends on the model’s CFM rating, airflow direction, and ventilation. PolarCool units are ideal for spot cooling, zone cooling, or air circulation across large industrial areas
Can evaporative coolers replace traditional air conditioning?
Yes, in many industrial and commercial environments. They can replace or supplement AC systems in large, open, or high-bay facilities where traditional AC systems are impractical or costly
What is the expected temperature drop?
Typical results vary with temperature and humidity:
- Hot & Dry (100°F / 20% RH): ~23°F drop
- Warm & Dry (80°F / 20% RH): ~17°F drop
- Hot & Humid (95°F / 50% RH): ~13°F drop
Even in humid conditions, you can expect 10°F–13°F cooling, ideal for manufacturing floors and equipment zones
What power source do I need?
Most PolarCool models run on a standard 115V outlet. Larger (48” models) industrial units may require a dedicated circuit; refer to your product’s specification sheet for amperage and voltage details.
How much noise does a PolarCool fan make?
PolarCool fans operate at relatively low noise levels for their high output, typically ranging from 53 to 68 decibels, comparable to a busy office environment. The units are designed for, and often used in, commercial or large workshop settings where the noise is generally not considered disruptive.

Is assembly required?
Minimal. Units are ready to use out of the box. Remove shipping tape from the float valve before operation
Do PolarCools units need ventilation?
Yes —fresh air circulation is critical for peak performance. Operate units with doors, vents, or bay openings available to prevent humidity buildup.
Can I use the cooler outdoors or in partially open spaces?
Absolutely. PolarCool units excel in semi-open or open-air facilities, such as loading bays, outdoor service areas, and athletic training spaces
Do evaporative coolers work in humid environments?
Yes. PolarCool systems use advanced CELdex™ cooling media that still deliver measurable cooling even in humid regions. Many of our clients report significant comfort gains in Gulf Coast and Southern U.S. climates
